Crosshair Marketing was established in 1995 by John Cowan, its principle partner. The company specializes in customer data management and analytics for the purpose of creating well-targeted mailing lists and direct marketing campaigns. Crosshair developed the SMARTDiary Zip Penetration model for the Broadcast industry to identify current listeners and clone new ones in order to increase ratings. 

 

While Crosshair still services some of the largest broadcast customers in the U.S., it has substantially expanded its customer base over the years using similar geographic and lifestyle customer profiling techniques for non-broadcast customers.
